My name is Nikki Barlia and I believe that every day is another opportunity to change your life. We all
need help to navigate the hurdles life throws our way, and we need someone trustworthy to walk
alongside us on the journey. I enjoy helping clients improve their lives by overcoming anxiety, building
healthy relationships, finding purpose, lowering stress levels, and increasing self-esteem. I believe that the relationship between therapist and client is the most important tool within the therapy process, so I try to create an environment that is warm and safe without judgment. My role as a therapist is
versatile, I am an educator, a guide, a listener, a goofball or a mirror.
My specializations include anxiety, depression, grief and loss, family dynamics, life transitions, trauma,
parenting, caring for elder parents, chronic illness, and divorce. I enjoy working with individuals,
couples, families, and groups. I am also a qualified supervisor for master level counselors working
towards their license.
I take an integrative and eclectic approach to therapy, utilizing Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR).
Together we decide the pace and together we decide the focus of each session.
